To the "First People" (Native Americans), the word "Medicine" takes on many menaings. There is special medicine of/for the Spirit, Body, and Mind. There is medicine for Birth, Youth, Adulthood, Old Age, and Death. There is medicine of the West,South,East, and North. There is medicine for planting, and medicine for harvest. Also, to our people, various colors hold strong medicine, Spiritual Powers, and light upon the paths we journey within the 4-corners and after-life. Also, to the "Keepers" (Native Americans), certain animals carry medicine meaning; And so do the Sun, Moon, and Stars. Then we have the medicine of the trees, rocks, water, and fire. Then there is the medicine of the "Plant People", both Spiritual and Medical. All medicine is equal, all meaningful, all connected in Divine Harmony with the Creator, Earth Mother, the Two Legged, and All Relations great and small, coming together in one cause, one purpose, one earth, one people. The "Red Road", the "Path", is a self sustaining way of life acknowledging need and support of the Spirit, Body, and Mind, of the Two Legged, and reverent maintenance of Earth Mother and All Relations. What we hope to do is provide a general but fundamental understanding of Native American Etiquette so that one can apply these sacred principles to their personal lives, and to feel confident to participate in open Native American Pow Wows/Gatherings and Ceremonies with Knowledge, Respect, and Reverence.Aho!
We look forward to hearing from you.
